The Future of Cold Chain Packaging

Cold chain logistics has traditionally relied on expanded polystyrene (EPS) and other petroleum-based foams to maintain temperature integrity during transit. Our engineering team set out to prove that a fiber-based alternative could match, and in some cases exceed, the thermal performance of legacy materials.

Through multiple rounds of structural testing, our clay-coated paperboard demonstrated consistent insulation performance down to -20C, with select formulations holding integrity in extreme trials as low as -80C. The result is a fully recyclable packaging system that eliminates up to 80% of the plastic waste generated by conventional cold chain shipments.

As more logistics providers commit to science-based emissions targets, we expect paper-based thermal insulation to become the default choice for temperature-sensitive shipments across food service, pharmaceuticals, and biotech.
